Methow River and Wildlife


Rafting the Methow Tubing the Methow During high water(May & June), many rafting groups & their customers use our facilities to camp & launch from. Some rafting groups provide a shuttle bus service from the camp ground to a launch point further up river.( refer to our Friends Links )After high water, we have a swimming hole where families can enjoy the sun & water. We offer inner tubes & life vests for rent at $3.00 per day. A very nice inner tube ride is from our swimming hole to the other end of the park.

Buck deer Two Buck deer The Methow Valley is an excellent location for viewing wildlife. It is home range to the largest migratory mule deer herd in Washington State. The two bucks in the one picture were coming back through the park after a drink at 7am.

Eagles in tree Another steelhead Steelhead fish The rescent (fall, winter, spring) steelhead runs have had record numbers of steelhead, and the fishing was outstanding. The steelhead shown in these pictures were caught in holes bordering the park.The summer trout fishing season was also very good. The colder weather also brings numerous eagles to the valley. Hunting, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, motor cycle riding, fishing, photo & wildlife viewing, horse riding, skiing, & other recreation areas are either on, adjacent or very close to the park.
